About IOM Equine

IOM Equine started back in August 2017, it is a reporting service, dedicated solely to covering different types of equine disciplines across the Isle of Man. Co-founders Amy and Paul have utilised different types of media, regularly providing updates, photos, reports, general articles of interest on the Facebook page.

IOM Equine has also raised money for charity and sponsored events. Amy and Paul regularly brain-storm ideas, looking into different ways to improve the local equine coverage. Amongst their biggest achievements to date is their Annual Prize Presentation which has seen over 250 people attend the event (on both occasions to date) and has become an established fixture on the local equestrian calendar.

Amy Rothwell

Co-Founder

Amy has always had a passion for horses. Her family, including herself, have always been involved in the local Equine community. Amy’s daughter is also following in the family’s footsteps by becoming a keen successful jockey. Not having any previous reporting experience this was a big step for Amy. Since starting IOM Equine, it has seen it evolve in a reporting service dedicated to the promotion of the Manx equestrian community. Amy has mixed her passion and hard work, which has over 1400 followers on the IOM Equine Facebook page and has seen her report, photograph and compere, provided a strong social media presence, covering all different equine disciplines.

Paul “Hatty” Hatton

Co-Founder

Paul started to cover local sports back in 1998, reporting on football matches for the Rushen Utd match-day programme and started to build up his media contacts. Albeit, he has been predominately reported on local football (which has included 7 Inter Island Games), Paul has also occasionally reported / photographed cycling, darts and rifle shooting, writing regular reports for different local publications, plus having a social media presence. He’s co-written a book “Soccer with Three Legs”. In October 2017, Amy made Paul a Co-Admin of IOM Equine, which has seen him embrace the new challenge of equestrian reporting, regularly turning up at different equestrian events, drawing on his 20+ years reporting experience to good use to promote the local equine community.

IOM Equine Dinner & Prize Presentation

IOM Equine plan on holding their third Annual Prize Presentation on the 13th November 2021 at the Palace Hotel, Douglas. Within a couple of years, it has become an established event within the local Equine community with over 250 people in attendance. It has seen a coming together of the various equine disciplines for one evening, sharing and celebrating success. On both occasions, they were sold out.

Demand again for this year’s event is expected to be high.

To date Evoke have approved over £38,000,000 of mortgages to local individuals and businesses.
